Manna House
The New Start Program
The Manna House in situated on 2.8 acres
in Brookshire, Texas and has been the
main residence for the New Start Program
since its inception in 1997. It also houses
the kitchen, dining room and library for
the New Start Program.
Objective
The New Start Program is a “three quarter house” residential recovery
program. Its objective is to provide behavior modification through the
restraints of strict living guidelines for men who are seeking a “new
start” and who recognize their need for deliverance from addiction to
alcohol, drugs or both. The pattern of random, self-serving living
without purpose must be broken as it is destructive.
The New Start Program is for men who do NOT require confinement for
detoxification. We are not a licensed facility, nor do we have licensed
counselors or physicians on staff.
a. The New Start Program offers recovery through transformation
in a man’s spirit, soul and body by the study of and compliance
with:
• The living Word of God and
• The 12-Step Program of Recovery
This program is first founded on biblical principles and second enforces
the 12-Step Program of Recovery.
b. Residency is divided into four Phases, each phase is dedicated its
own schedule and curriculum and is a progression to return to a
purpose driven life outside of The New Start Program.


Admission
For admission to the New Start Program you must:
A. Fill out application.
B. Sign New Start Program Commitment Agreement
C. Pay upon entry, $150 weekly rent amount - plus a $150
non-refundable application fee
Requirements
A. Complete all assignments and curriculum in the allotted time periods.
B. Complete 7 Daily Responsibilities
1. CONTACT MENTOR:
Residents are assigned a 12-Step and or Spiritual mentor. Contact your mentors daily
and build a personal relationship.
2. PRAYER AND DEVOTIONAL:
Starting the day off read the provided daily devotional. Spend time in prayer and
meditation.
3. READ BIBLE & BIG BOOK:
New Start Program curriculum has daily assigned Bible and Big Book reading.
4. ATTEND MEETINGS:
Be on time. Bring all required materials. Turn off cell phones. Do not leave once the
meeting has begun. No sleeping. No disruptions. Show respect to all facilitators. 30
Day residents are not to speak unless called on by the facilitator.
Meeting Schedule
Residents in Phase #1 attend all meetings. Missing a meeting may result in termination.
Monday – Saturday Morning Devotional 9:00 am
Residents who have not left for work, have the day off or are unemployed will participate in the
Morning Devotional.
Weekly evaluation meetings with the New Start Program Administrator will be posted in the
Manna House.
5. COMPLETE CHORE:
Assigned chore area cleaned before you retire for the night or before you leave for work.
You are responsible for any mess made in your chore area.
6. PROGRESS REPORT & ASSIGNMENTS
Complete Progress Report each day as before you retire for the night.
Being Honest, complete Bible, Big Book and memorization assignments weekly.
7. WORK:
Residents must have a job upon entry or be actively seeking employment; and must
obtain gainful employment within 14 days. Residents are not to work more than 50
hours per week. Unemployed residents work daily on property from 9:00 am–12:00 pm.
All job hunting and job interviews will be scheduled after lunch.
C. Random alcohol and drug testing will be administered. The resident will comply at time of
request or will remain in the presents of the staff until such time. Noncompliance may result in
immediate termination

Directives
A. No Alcohol No Drugs
1. No unauthorized drug consumption of any form.
2. Residents who choose to “USE” will be terminated immediately.
B. No Smoking or Dipping in any Buildings.
C. No Pornography
Residents involved in any form of pornography will be subject to termination
Including any TV programs, videos, books, magazines, games, music, computers etc.
D. No Profanity of any Form
Includes: curse words, profane gestures, hand signals or profane behavior etc.
E. Christian Music Only
1. No other form of music is permitted on the property.
2. Residents under 120 days not permitted to use head sets.
3. Radios and CD players used for secular music will be confiscated.
F. Curfew
1. Phase #1 – 8:00 pm Sunday – Thursday
2. Phase #2, #3 & #4 – 11:00 pm Sunday – Thursday
3. All residents – 11:00 pm Friday & Saturday or 12:00 am if with a fellow resident.
4. Violation of curfew occurs when a resident is late and does not contact the staff
to notify the reason for being tardy or arrives later than their estimated time of
arrival on the sign out sheet.
5. Violation may result in immediate termination.
G. Buddy System
1. Phase #1 Residents accompanied by a posted approved buddy for any off
property destination other than work.
2. Residents must be in Phase #2 and in good standing to be considered for
approved buddy status.
H. Sign-In and Sign-Out
1. Residents sign out for all off property destinations.
2. Inform Titus Community staff of whereabouts AT ALL TIMES.
3. Contact staff member to change any destination or ETA. Destination
change requires a resident to be in good standing.
4. Call in once daily.
I. Routine Daily Agendas
1. 7:15am beds made. (9:00 am Saturday)
2. Stay out of bed until 9:00 pm (NO sleeping ANY where without permission from
duty staff).
3. Complete Daily 7 Responsibilities
J. No Overnight Guest
K. Daily House Cleaning
1. Chores completed and maintained for daily inspections.
2. Living quarters kept clean and in order at all times.
3. Thorough house cleaning Saturday night @ 8:30 pm for Sunday morning
inspection.
4. Make a mess anywhere at anytime clean it up immediately.
5. Do not leave personal items lying around it will be confiscated.
6. Return all items to their proper areas. Put cigarette butts in ash trays or butt
containers.
L. Inspections
1. Daily house and chore inspections
2. Random vehicle and personal area inspections will be performed for contraband.
(i.e. alcohol, drugs, pornography, or any other inappropriate items.)
M. Consideration of Fellow Residents
1. Maintain exceptional personal hygiene.
2. Proper clothing worn at all times. Pants and shirts on anytime you are outside,
boxer shorts only is unacceptable.
3. Respect others areas and property. Stay out of personal areas without
permission. Do not interrupt mentor meetings or study time with questions,
conversation or telephone calls.
4. Help maintain cleanliness in all areas. Clean up after yourself and others as you
see things out of place.
N. Cellular and House phone use
1. Limit personal phone calls to 10 minutes (Friends/Family).
2. No incoming calls after 10:30 pm.
3. No phone use after curfew.
4. No personal information given out regarding any resident.
5. Answer call-waiting.
6. Write down all messages and place in resident’s mail-box.
7. Direct all calls concerning resident entry to Titus Community Staff.
O. No Women Allowed in the Manna House.

Q. MOH – Ministry of Helps
1. Two hours weekly to be completed by Friday Midnight
2. Unemployed residents required 12 hours weekly.
3. Staff sign-off as completed
R. Pay Rent
1. Rent is $125.00 weekly and is due Friday for the upcoming week
2. Entry requires First weeks rent plus a non-refundable application fee of $125.00
3. Application fee and rent must be paid to reserve a bed.
4. Residents are assisted with a budgeting and managing their money.
5. Residents terminated from the program due to relapse will not be eligible for a
rent refund of any amount.
S. Transportation
1. Legal and reliable transportation or disclose transportation source.
2. No resident can rely on other residents for sole transportation.
3. Titus Community is not responsible to provide or to coordinate transportation
for residents.
T. Visitors
1. Family and friends may attend meetings posted on the Manna House sign.
a. Friday fellowship 6:00pm to 10:00pm
b. Sunday Worship Service to 5:00pm.
2. 30 day residents – FAMILY ONLY (Spouse or relative)

U. Quiet Time
1. In the library always.
2. 11:00 pm Sunday – Thursday; 1:00 am Friday & Saturday
Lights out; TV, radios & CD players off; Game room closed; buildings locked; No loud
conversations; No phone use.
V. No New Relationships
1. No new girlfriends. This includes visits, telephone calls, and pen pals.
2. Includes any person Titus Community Staff deems inappropriate.
W. Eviction
1. The Staff of Titus Community, Inc. reserves the right to evict a resident at any
time for any reason.
2. Continued lackadaisical and/or incorporative attitude towards The New Start
Program.
3. Insubordination or disrespect to any leadership or authority.
4. To remain a resident one must demonstrate his sincerity in obtaining recovery
and “working” The New Start Program. Your diligence will be measured by:
a. Attitude and demeanor
b. Completion of Daily 7 Responsibilities
c. Mentors feedback
d. Participation in Meetings
e. Effective 12 step progress
f. Upon departure from the New Start Program residents must take
their belongings or after 48 hours they will be donated to charity.
